Effective October 11, 2026
This policy explains what information AP Motor Co ("we", "us") collects when you visit apmotorco.com, buy a kit or contact us, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@apmotorco.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Order details: your name, email address, phone number, and shipping and billing addresses. Checkout runs on Shopify. Your card details go straight to Shopify and its payment processors; we never see or store your full card number.
- Vehicle details: the year, make, model and trim you choose, and your VIN if you enter one. We use these to cut the right kit.
- Front-of-vehicle photos: if you send a photo of your car so we can confirm fitment, we receive the photo and anything visible in it, such as your license plate or surroundings.
- Messages: what you send through the contact form or by email, including your name and email address.
- Email sign-up: your email address if you join our list.
Information collected automatically
When you use the site, we and our analytics and advertising partners collect information such as your IP address, approximate location based on it, browser and device type, pages you view, the site that sent you here, and actions like adding a kit to your cart. This is collected with cookies, pixels and similar technology.
Information stored in your browser
The site stores a few small items in your browser so it works: your cart, the vehicle you last picked, whether you've seen our email sign-up box, and your advertising choice below. You can clear these at any time in your browser settings.
Information from others
When you look up a VIN, we send it to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public vehicle database to decode it. Shopify, payment processors and UPS also share order, payment-verification and delivery information with us.
How we use it
- To cut, pack and ship your order, and to send order and shipping updates.
- To check your front-of-vehicle photo against your kit before we cut it.
- To answer your questions and handle Perfect-Fit Guarantee and warranty claims.
- To send marketing emails if you signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand how the site is used, fix problems and improve it.
- To measure and show our ads, unless you opt out (see below).
- To prevent fraud and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
We share information only with companies that help us run the business, and only for the purposes above:
- Shopify: our store, checkout and order records, plus the payment processors it works with.
- UPS: your name, address and phone number, to deliver your kit.
- Vercel: hosts this website.
- Resend: delivers contact-form messages and front-of-vehicle photos to our inbox.
- Klaviyo: manages our email list, if you sign up.
- Google (Analytics and Ads), Meta (Pixel) and PostHog: website analytics and ad measurement.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business.
We don't sell your personal information for money. Some state laws treat advertising cookies and pixels, like Google Ads and the Meta Pixel, as "selling" or "sharing" information for targeted advertising. You can opt out of that below.
Your privacy choices
Targeted advertising. Use the button below to stop Google Ads and Meta advertising tags from loading on this browser. We still use basic analytics, with Google's advertising features switched off. The choice is saved in this browser, so repeat it on each browser or device you use.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising and don't load advertising tags. We don't respond to the older "Do Not Track" signal, which has no agreed standard.
Emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We'll still send emails about your orders.
Cookies. Your browser lets you block or delete cookies. Google and Meta also offer their own ad settings in your accounts with them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy of it, correct it, delete it, and opt out of targeted advertising, sale or sharing. To make a request, email support@apmotorco.com. We'll confirm your identity, usually by matching your order email, and respond within 45 days. You can use an authorized agent; we'll ask for proof that they act for you. If we turn down your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.
How long we keep it
We keep order records, vehicle details and front-of-vehicle photos as long as we need them to fulfill your order and handle Perfect-Fit Guarantee and warranty claims, and as long as tax and accounting rules require. We keep messages as long as needed to help you, and email-list details until you unsubscribe. After that we delete or anonymize the information.
Security
We use reputable providers and limit who on our team can see your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.
Children
The site is not meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has given us information, email support@apmotorco.com and we'll delete it.
Where we operate
We sell and ship within the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll make it clear on the site.
