How it works

A shop's work, minus the labor bill.

Professional PPF installs are three jobs: patterning, cutting and installing. The first two need software and a plotter. We do those. The third needs patience and a squeegee.

  1. Step 01

You pick your vehicle and coverage

Choose your year, make, model and trim. Trim matters: performance packages, off-road trims and mid-cycle refreshes often use different bumpers, sensors and badges.

Add your VIN if you have it handy. We check it against the pattern before cutting.

  2. Step 02

    We pull your vehicle's pattern

Every vehicle we sell has a digital pattern library — one template per panel, drawn to the shape of the factory part. Patterns include relief cuts where the film has to stretch around a curve, and openings for parking sensors, washer nozzles, tow-hook covers and emblems.

  3. Step 03

The film is plotter-cut to order

We cut your kit from 8.5 mil TPU paint protection film on a vinyl plotter, the same way a shop does before installing. Nothing is cut in advance and sitting on a shelf.

Each piece is labeled by panel and side, then the kit is rolled in a tube and packed in a box with a placement map.

  4. Step 04

    It ships to your door

Kits ship by UPS in 2–3 business days, with tracking. Orders of $50 or more ship free; smaller orders ship for $5.05.

  5. Step 05

    You install it

Wash and clay the car, then work one panel at a time: spray the paint and the adhesive side of the film with slip solution, float the piece into place, tack the center with a stronger tack solution, and squeegee the water out from the middle to the edges.

Because every piece is already cut to shape, there's no knife work on the car. The install guide covers every step and the common mistakes.

Before you order

Read the install guide first. If it looks like something you'd enjoy, you'll do fine. If it doesn't, a local installer can fit our kit for far less than a full shop job.

FAQ

Questions people ask before they order

Something else? Ask us. A person who cuts these kits answers.

Do I have to trim anything on the car?

No. Every piece is cut to the shape of your panel before it ships, including cutouts for sensors, washer nozzles and emblems where your vehicle needs them. You never take a blade to your paint.

How hard is it to install PPF myself?

A partial front kit is a good first install. Most people finish it in an afternoon, and the bumper is the piece that takes the most patience. The install guide covers each piece in order.

What do I need besides the kit?

A spray bottle of slip solution (water and a few drops of baby shampoo), a spray bottle of tack solution (water and isopropyl alcohol), a squeegee, microfiber towels and a clean, shaded space.

What if a piece doesn't fit?

Perfect-Fit Guarantee: send a photo of the front of your car with your order, and if a piece doesn't fit, we re-cut it free. Send us a photo of the piece on the car and we'll take it from there.

How long does the film last?

The film carries a 10-year warranty against yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling. Real-world life depends on sun exposure and how the car is washed.

Will PPF damage my paint?

Not on factory paint in good condition. Quality film uses an adhesive designed to release cleanly. Repainted panels are the exception: if the clear coat wasn't applied properly, any film can lift it when removed.

How fast does it ship?

Kits are cut to order and ship in 2–3 business days, with tracking. Orders of $50 or more ship free; smaller orders ship for $5.05.
